Lisburn & Castlereagh Council Area

In February 2018 Connswater Homes completed construction of 31nr 2 bedroom Eco Homes at Ballygowan Road Castlereagh. The scheme is accessed from Ballygowan Road and lies within an established residential area with all amenities in close proximity including shops, public transport, churches and community facilities.

The apartments benefit from sustainable features including a ‘green’ roof, photovoltaic panels and rainwater butts; and are designed and constructed to Lifetime Homes, Secured by Design standards and Code for Sustainable Homes Level 3.

Lagan Mews is constructed on part open space in the centre of the established Old Warren estate. The site was subject to a number of restrictions including PPS8 designated open space and close proximity to the flood plain and so development was restricted to 6nr family homes. Construction works and allocations completed in March 2016.

The new build homes benefit from an open aspect to the scheme frontage and a high specification compliant with current Building Regulations, Lifetime Homes and Secured by Design standards.

The Lower Braniel Road scheme was developed in the suburban area of Braniel back in 2014 with key aim of addressing growing demand for ‘active elderly’ over 55s accommodation. Situated on the southern edge of Castlereagh, the scheme benefits from numerous amenities including a GP surgery, pharmacy, community centre, primary school and children’s play area. The homes are located on an excellent public transport network making it an ideal location for housing.

The 15nr 2 bedroom apartments are stepped into the north facing slope of the Castlereagh Hills and are afforded panoramic views of East Belfast. The properties have been designed and constructed to comply with the Housing Association Design Guide, Code for Sustainable Homes Level 3, Secured by Design and Lifetime Homes standards and the current Building Regulations.

Connswater Homes completed construction of 6nr 2 bedroom family homes in the popular Tonagh Estate area back in March 2016. Readily accessible to Lisburn City Centre and the M1, the properties are well served by shopping facilities, GP surgeries, places of worship, schools and other key amenities. Formerly occupied by 6nr derelict bungalows in a very poor state of disrepair, proving both unsightly and attracting anti-social behaviour, the new build scheme was greatly welcomed and has assisted in reducing an ever-growing waiting list for homes in the popular Tonagh estate.

The new build homes are compliant with current Building Regulations, Lifetime Homes and Secured by Design standards.
