Personal Independence Payment (PIP)

From June 2016 PIP replaced what was previously known as Disability Living Allowance for working age people (18 to 64 year olds).

PIP is a non means-tested benefit that considers the impact a particular health condition has on a person’s life rather than the severity of the condition itself. If after the assessment someone does not qualify for the PIP and lodges the appeal, there could be a supplementary payment equal to their DLA payment, until their appeal is heard and a decision made.
